        me and my daughter are hiv postive. She is 7yrs old and on ARV`s. She is looking good, but my worry now is, she asked me why she always takes medication? I was stunned, did not know what to say. I am scared that if I tell her at this age, she will tell others and she will be discriminiated by other kids. What is your advice?. She told me the other day that she is scared opf hiv, and what exactly is this hiv and she doesn`t want to become hiv. Please advise.

        dont worry such questions are asked by children and one has to answer smartly. one should say that see my child you have a chronic disease of blood for which you have to take medicines if you take medicines properly you will be active and always be ahead in studies and games but you dont take them then you will lag behind your friends. this medicine is for long time and can not be stopped at present. we will stop them when doctor says that you are alright. do not utter HIV AIDS in front of a small child and take help of councellor for the disclosure of HIV status for the child at appropreate age.
